How to Customize Your Android Lockscreen using WidgetLocker App!

One of the apps I used to save a ton of time and actually make use of my Android lockscreen is called WidgetLocker Lockscreen, a paid app you can get from the Market for around $2.99.

This app is definitely worth every penny as it allows you to put all your favorite apps within a swipe-reach from your lockscreen.

You can find the WidgetLocker Lockscreen app on the Market, install and open it.

When you open the WidgetLocker app, you will be in “Tool Mode” where you can customize the lockscreen to your liking.

If you do a long-press, you will get an option for “Custom Slider”, choose that.

Here, you can slide over the existing sliders to change the app it opens.

Slide it over to change it.

Select “Application” to change it to your liking.

You will get an option to choose your favorite app such as camera for quick access from lockscreen.

You can also change the “Theme” of your slider or even download new themes using the buttons at bottom.

I tend to like the default Android theme but there’s plenty of styles to choose from.

Once you save, you will see your customized sliders show up.

You can do a long-press in the middle of the sliders to move it to your desired position on the lockscreen.

You can also erase any of the sliders by dragging them into a trashcan.

Once you’ve customized all your sliders, you are ready to rock.  You can see now that I can get to my camera, phone dialer, browser, Google Plus, GMail, and Google Music in just one swipe from my lockscreen instead of the old, unlock the screen, find the app, then select icon method.

This is a great way to save a ton of time plus who knows, you might have to take a video of that crazy guy in San Francisco like I like to do.  With the WidgetLocker Lockscreen app, your lockscreen is super-energized, try it out!

This is much better than any of the other lockers I have tried, thanks for the heads up! I had been wanting a locker that lets be customize the apps I can open from the lock screen since I switched from iOS, it’s been a month now.

The developer of this app needs to add some keywords, I couldn’t find any and wasted $11 on others that only let you customize I think it was 4 max! Appreciate this post very much.
